About EDGI UK:

The Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative UK (EDGI UK) aims to better understand the role that genes and environment play in the development of eating disorders. The more we understand these illnesses, the more we can help people who are experiencing them.

This information will help future researchers and clinicians develop and deliver more effective treatments.

Our aim is to collect the psychological, medical, and genetic information of 10,000 people with experience of any eating disorder.

You do not have to:

Have received treatment or a diagnosis to take part
Tell your healthcare or insurance provider (all your information is strictly confidential)

Am I Eligible?

To take part in the Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative, part of the NIHR BioResource, you must:

Have experienced, or have been diagnosed with an eating disorder
Be aged 16 and above
Live in England

How do I take part in EDGI?

Register on the EDGI UK website

Read the information sheet and provide consent

Complete a 30 minute questionnaire

Complete your DNA saliva kit (for genetics research) and return it to us in the free envelope provided

GLAD
The Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) Study, led by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Mental Health BioResource and researchers at King’s College London, in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast, University of Edinburgh, and Cardiff University, is a project set up to support studies exploring risk factors for depression and/or anxiety.
